Ceraphim by ThaliaAngel91
Plankton research has inspired artists to use the amazing varity of organisms for their creations. These phantastical animals are named "Ceraphim" by the artist for their ability to hover in the air. They resemble the Ceratia and Creatium ranipes which actually exist in the ocean as phytoplankton (although they are a lot smaller). The artist was once an intern at the laboratory in Villefranche-sur-Mer. The painting was made with watercolor, ink and pencils. © Annika Lange, all rights reserved.
