Cyttarocylis cassis by Ernst Haeckel

The species was first described by Ernst Haeckel as Dictyocysta cassis in 1873. The image is a restored version of figure 2 in Plate 27 of Haeckel 1873. Forms known as different Cyttarocylis species are probably all variants of Cytarocylis ampulla, formerly known as Petalotricha ampulla.
