Odd fellow: Sculptor, painter, graphic artist and writer. After his school education, he completed zoological studies under Ernst Haeckel in Jena. Acquainted with the Munich painter Gabriel von Max. First sculptural attempts under the influence of Adolf von Hildebrand during a study trip to Munich. There he met Lenin. 1911 began studying at the Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Trades in Leipzig.1914–18, among other things, as a war painter in the First World War.1918 continued his studies in Leipzig under O.R. Bossert, A. Kolb and A. Lehnert.Study trips to Berlin and from 1918 worked as a freelancer in Leipzig. Traveled to Italy, Holland, France, Belgium and Switzerland.From 1930,member of the Freemasons' lodge Minerva zu den drei Palmen. 1940 moved to Leipzig-Holzhausen.
