Beulhah Mitchell Clute (1873-1958) was famous in her time as graphic artist. The image is a signature from a 1939 letter donating a book of her sketches of the University of California Berkeley. Her work before marriage to Walter Clute as L. Beulah Mitchell is signed 'LBM'; later works as Beulah Mitchell Clute were usually signed 'BMC'.
